Puzzle 2 - Pumpkin Sudoku

Happy Halloween! Here’s a puzzle.

I tried to carve a regular sudoku onto a pumpkin, but I messed up and carved a lot of the numbers too close to the edges. Wherever a closed shape was made, it fell into the pumpkin. The whole center of the puzzle fell in! I think you can still solve it, though.

The numbers carved are shown below the puzzle, and were the same every time I tried to carve them.

It can be a little hard to see the numbers, so below there’s also a version of the puzzle where the carved areas are in black.
